THE VIRTUE MODEL

A Next-Generation Framework for Authentic Social Transformation and Human Flourishing

UNLEASHING HUMAN POTENTIAL

The Virtue Model is a next-generation framework for authentic  social transformation and human flourishing. It goes beyond performative compliance and representation to build ethical, justice-centered systems that promote solidarity across differences, dismantles oppression, and creates cultures where latent human potential can be fully realized.

BUILDING JUST SYSTEMS

At its core are two interconnected pillars:

E(3)J: The Process
ALL: The Outcome
  • Ethics: Treating all people with dignity and ensuring policies do no harm.

  • Equality: Guaranteeing fair access to resources and opportunities.

  • Equity: Correcting for structural disadvantages caused by history and discrimination.

  • Justice: Dismantling systemic barriers that perpetuate oppression.

  • Anti-Oppressive: Removing structures that sustain injustice.

  • Life-Affirming: Respecting all human life, other life forms, and the natural world.

  • Liberating: Freeing individuals and communities from social, psychological, and financial burdens that fuel anxieties, and stifle innovation and growth.

RELEVANCE

Existing frameworks have plateaued while destructive leadership styles are fueling chaos and division globally, and there is growing distrust in critical social institutions not merely on issues of race, class, and ethnicity in some contexts, but in the capacity of individuals and institutions to execute their basic functions with competence, fairness, and integrity in the interest of society. The goal of belonging or inclusion in these cultures are both contradictory and counterintuitive, warranting a visionary and more expansive approach. The Virtue Model looks beyond these constructs to embed virtue ethics into education systems, workplaces, communities, government, and public policy — creating environments that :

  • Value human dignity above compliance within outmoded systems.

  • Recognize the need for visionary and human centered approaches to problem-solving.

  • Diminish division and promote mutual respect and solidarity around core virtues.

  • Build cultures where people are free to innovate, contribute, and thrive.

  • Institutions that value humanity over identity siloes.

About Dr.
Grace Virtue

Dr. Grace Virtue is a social scientist and writer whose career bridges education, journalism, and nonprofits. Her early career in journalism sharpened her commitment to truth, accountability, and ethics, while her work in the humanities deepened her understanding of history, cultures, and society.

Her lived experience—growing up in crippling poverty in Jamaica, and later as an immigrant in the United States—gives her a unique insight into normalized oppression and the urgent need for liberating systems and cultures that advance solidarity and human thriving.

In her acclaimed 2024 memoir, Old House and Red Neckties, Dr. Virtue explores the impact of destructive leadership on institutions and societies. In response, she created The Virtue Model—a framework that serves both as a foil to such leadership and as a pathway toward more just and peaceful societies.

An exceptional public speaker and thought leader, Dr. Virtue brings a rare combination of intellectual depth, moral clarity, and storytelling power to every stage and setting. Her talks inspire reflection, awaken conscience, and offer actionable strategies for transforming workplaces, institutions, and communities.

At a time when negative leadership traits threaten global stability, she sees the implementation of the Virtue Model as both timely and urgent.
